Hi Foxy friends, Julie back with you again today sharing a layout using the Escape title piece, from the May Fox Box, along with a banner, out the awesome set, available in store. I made this layout over the NSD weekend & I've been watching a few art journalling YouTube videos so went with a full on mixed media background.

I first brayered some dylusions paints onto the gessoed background in 3 messy vertical strips. I then removed some of the turquoise paint by using a baby wipe through a circle stencil. It's the gesso that allows this to happen as the paint sits on top & removing some of it gives it a bleached effect.

I then added some texture paste, in a few areas & some black stencilling around the page, which I outlined in white.

I carried on adding to the background, building up the layers with stamped circle, drawn circles, splatters & inked circles from bottle tops (a fab free tool to have in your craft space)
I was then ready to start adding papers. I tore a couple of strips & added those across the centre with a zip & machine stitching, using some fussy cut mixed media circle above & below.

I positioned my photo cluster, to the left, adding lots of ephemera & the banner perspextive pointing into the page.

I chose bits from the Color Study collection to emphasise the subject of art, pencils, paint tubes, etc & added those in with my clusters. I even added the cute pink scissor perspextive that came in the April Fox Box.

I added another cluster, at the bottom, using the pot of pencils along with some fussy cut pencils, a tube of paint & part of my title.

when I first saw the Escape perspextive I immediately thought of travel layouts but wanted to try & use it differently so came up with the title 'Escape reality, Make ART' which I think, while scrapbooking we all enjoy some much needed 'ME' time & escape the reality of life, kids, housework, etc, for which I'm very grateful!!!

Thank for joining me today.
until next time
