Loved This Hat | Julie Taylor | Scrapbook Layout

I recently had the absolute honour of being mother of the bride at my daughter’s wedding — a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Of course, I couldn’t resist going all out with my outfit, and that included choosing a rather large and fabulous hat! I adored it so much that it simply had to have a scrapbook page all of its own.

For this layout, I started with a beautifully patterned paper background. I decided to keep things clean and skip the mixed media this time, letting the details do the storytelling. On the left-hand side, I added a frame and stitched some messy lines underneath for a relaxed, handmade feel.

The main focus became a large photo cluster, which I built up with layers of lace, die cuts, tickets, and soft fabric pieces. I kept everything in tonal shades of blue with just a hint of soft green to perfectly echo the colours of my hat. The textures and layers really help bring depth and softness to the page.

To balance the design, I created a smaller photo cluster on the right. I repeated the same elements to keep everything cohesive, then drew the eye upward by adding a delicate arrangement of flowers, giving the page a gentle sense of movement.

Across the centre, I placed the title *Loved This* from the June Fox Box, which ties both clusters together beautifully. To finish it off, I added the word “hat” using alpha stickers from my stash — a simple but meaningful detail that celebrates the star of the show.

This page makes me smile every time I see it — a perfect reminder of a truly special day.
Thank You for joining me today.
Until next time,
