There is something magical about documenting family days by the sea. The sound of the waves, tiny footprints in the sand, and treasured moments become memories that deserve a special place in our albums. For this layout, I wanted to capture the fresh, carefree feeling of a beach holiday using the beautiful Seaside Memories Perspective from Bramble Fox as my title feature.

Creating a Soft Coastal Colour Palette

For this page, I chose a fresh coastal colour palette inspired by the shoreline. Soft aqua blues, seafoam greens, sandy beige tones to create a calm and airy feel, while pops of coral and peach add warmth and bring the embellishments to life.

The watercolour background mimics the movement of ocean waves, blending seamlessly into the sandy textured sections of the layout. This combination creates depth while keeping the focus firmly on the photographs.

Building Layers for Dimension

Layering is one of my favourite techniques for adding interest to a scrapbook page, and this layout uses plenty of it.

I tucked patterned papers behind each photograph, mixing banner shapes, torn edges and layered rectangles to create movement across the page. The layered papers help frame the photos while adding extra colour and texture without overwhelming the design.

Foam pads beneath selected elements lift them from the page, creating subtle shadows that make the embellishments feel more dimensional.

Mixed Media Techniques for a Coastal Feel

Mixed media adds softness and movement to this layout without taking attention away from the photos.

The watercolour effect background creates flowing waves, while subtle stencilled textures and distressed paper edges add extra interest. Ink blending and gentle shading help define the layers, giving the page a natural, weathered appearance that perfectly suits a seaside theme.

Keeping the background fairly light allows the bright acrylic title and colourful embellishments to stand out while maintaining an overall fresh and summery feel.

I also added a handwritten journaling section featuring a favourite quote about memories by the sea. Personal journaling is such an important finishing touch, capturing the emotions behind the photographs so they'll always be remembered.
