Create A Christmas Tree Only Using Embellishments

We all have more embellishments then we will ever need so this layout is a great way to use some of them up. I started by lightly drawing a triangle in pencil, mine was roughly around 9 inches in width & height.

The first thing I added was my photo, then some of the bigger pieces of ephemera, like the fussy cut ice stakes & bow from the Bramble Fox Paper Snips #083. Then it was time to add my perspective words 'twinkle', 'joy' & 'fa la la', I love that the fa la la is separate so I am able to curve it around my circular photo.

Next I began to fill the gaps with smaller embellishments, taking my time to find the right pieces for the right spaces, also trying to get an even spread of the colour scheme red, green & gold. Once I had finished with the embellishments I fill the tiny little gaps with sequins & gems.

I then mounted my entire page onto some dark green cardstock, & machined stitched around the edge to bring red into the frame. Do you have lots of Christmas embellishments to use up? Why not give this technique a try.

Until next time, much love,

Em xxx
